The Curtains Are Up

That's right. The long-awaited master bedroom curtains are finally up. No matter that I was really the only one waiting on them.

I only had a few requirements when it came to the curtains. They needed to have a white background. They needed to be free-flowing in terms of the print (nothing too geometric since the quilt is already so geometric). And they needed to be cheap.

I managed to find some fabric that fit all my requirements at Ikea. The Britten Nummer fabric to be exact. It came in at just $3.99 a yard, and since I needed 4 panels, at three yards a piece, I wound up spending less than $50 for them. Plus the cost of the curtain rods, of course. And my labor for the hours I spent making them. Fortunately that was free.

I don't know that numbers all over my curtains (that's what the writing is) would have been my first choice, but Mark and I met at a bank, which is nothing if not numbers-driven, so I'll pretend they're representative of that. As opposed to being representative my thriftiness, which is actually the driving force behind this particular purchase.

Next up for the master bedroom... something to cover the opening to the closest, artwork and perhaps a new light fixture. Any bets as to how long it takes me to get that done?!

Wow, those curtains are cute and original. Great purchase! I also like the "meaning" behind them. Good luck with the other stuff. I found giving myself a deadline works the best for me to get projects done. So maybe if you say I want everything together and decorated before Charlotte's birthday party, it would give you a jump start on getting it all done soon. (even if you don't get it done by the deadline)
