This month has gone by so quickly! Seriously guys, where did it go? It was a busy month around my house, but things should be calming down for the summer. Thank goodness!! We're pondering ideas for a vacation or two, not to mention a bunch of projects right here at home. But for now, we'll just focus on the coming week. Here's the menu:
Monday - Brats and Crash Hot Potatoes
Tuesday - Grecian Spaghetti
Wednesday - BLTs and String Beans
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Minestrone Soup
Saturday - Meatloaf
At church yesterday the praise leader mentioned a staggering statistic. He said a Gallup poll showed that 72% of Americans don't know the meaning behind Memorial Day. Many believe it's just the unofficial start to summer, as opposed to a day to honor our troops. Amazing to me that so many Americans are in the dark about that! Hopefully they, and others, caught some of the National Memorial Day Concert that aired on PBS over the weekend. Mark and I watched it yesterday evening and thought it was really moving. Neither of us have any family currently serving, but we have several neighbors who do, including one who we've never met because he's been in Afghanistan for almost two years now. I can't imagine sacrificing the way he, his wife and his children do. The way thousands of Americans do. But I'm thankful for each and every one!
