Our New Pad

I've got good news to share. Mark and I (and Charlotte too) are no longer homeless. On Friday, we closed on a new-to-us house. Yippee!! The settlement process was long (can I just say that the bank that our loan is through is slower than molasses!!), but we're super happy with the new place, and can't wait to start moving in and making it our own. I plan to snag a few empty pics before we start unpacking, but can show you a little tour with the old owner's stuff, brought to you by the MLS listing:

The exterior may seem small, but there's 1500 sq ft of finished space, plus 500 sq ft of unfinished storage and a carport that was converted into a sunroom. It's ample room for our little family!

The kitchen and dining space both have good bones, but could use some updating. We'll rip down wallpaper, paint, change lighting and maybe get new countertops.

The walls in the master bedroom will be painted for sure, as I'm not a big fan of the grapes motif. But Charlotte's room can probably just get infused with her style, no painting required.

The living room will get painted to match the dining space that it's open to and will get some new drapes, but the family room won't change much. At least not until we've gotten through some other things on the to do list and can get rid of the green carpeting.

The garden will probably change the most. Not out of desire for it to, but as a result of my black thumb. I'm hoping it'll at least make it through one season looking good, so we can have Charlotte's 3rd birthday party in the backyard!

We plan to begin unpacking one of our two PODS this week, but won't move in ourselves until after Christmas. We've obviously got some cosmetic work to do, but for the most part the place is ready to go. We're so excited!!
